Oh Joy!

Oh..... the let down....oh... the relief.! Oh.... joy!
The hustle and bustle is over. All the work, energy and time that goes into Christmas has come to an end.. So, I have time to sit back and think yet again, how truly blessed and lucky I am to have the children I have, the husband I have, and the family I have. I am truly greatful.
All the kids have gone back home, and the house feels so quiet again. Christmas was wonderful !We were all together  in one house, only for a couple of days, but at  least we had that.We had the 4 kids, and 4 dogs!We even got snow showers the day after Christmas! I am already looking forward to next year in the hopes that we will be grandparents, or soon to be grandparents!
Now my husband and I get to relax, we leave tomorrow in the RV to go on our annual New Years camping trip!We usually celebrate out at the beach , but this year we will be on the Edisto River.I won't be seaside but still be on the water. My camera is having some issues, so I hope to have that resolved when I return. Two of my Chistmas gifts will be the focus of my 1st blog of 2011.Happy Happy New Year!!!

A Sneak Peak Into Color Trends For 2011

2011 is right around the corner, so it's time to think about adding some fresh color to your home. Nothing screams fresh and new like a new color on the walls! Three of the leaders in the color industry , Pantone, ICI Dulux and Benjiman Moore have made their predictions for color trends for this coming year, as well as their color of the year. Let me know what you think.

Honeysuckle is absolutely beautiful! This has beachy and fun covered! I love it!
                                                            Pantone

Citrus yellow is always a winner, it can be energizing and inviting as well as
                         soothing and calming.ICI Dulux.

Benjiman Moore's Vintage Wine. I do like this color, it just too heavy for me, but would be stunning

My Seaside Story

My entire life I have been blessed to live on the seaside.I grew up in Norwalk ,CT, and most of my life was spent on Long Island Sound.I was introduced to the water at a very young age when my parents bought our 1st boat, a wooden Cris Craft.Mom,dad, my siblings and myself would get into the boat for leisurely boat rides or  do some fishing on the weekends.
Our  trips started on the Five Mile River in Rowayton, where I always admired the homes that sat along the  river, they were so beautiful, and dreamed of having a home on the water.
I was priviledged enough to see so much of the north eastern seaboard, because we fished for big game fish  on our sport fishing boat and got to see the beautiful creatures of the sea that a lot of people don't get to. I collected seashells from everywhere we traveled,I loved being on the beach!
I have since left CT and now live  in Beaufort, SC . For 19 years, this beautiful, coastal town has been home.We live on a bluff on the Intercoastal Waterway Where my home decor and deisign reflects the coastal and Lowcountry way of life. I am a southern yankee, and couldn't be happier living on the water, seeing Dolphin's on a daily basis, incredible sunsets, palm trees, the smell of the marsh grass, ocean  and beautiful weather!
