A Vintage Plantation Wedding

My son and future daughter in law, Maggie,  have already decided where their wedding and reception will be taking place. They went to look at the venue yesterday. They will not be getting married in a church, instead, it will be held on a plantation. The Old Wide Awake Plantation in  Hollywood SC , just outside of Charleston , where they live. This particular plantation was never a traditional working plantation, but,The main building was once part of a turn-of-the-century general store for the Stono Ferry. The plantation  sits on the  Stono River not far from the inter coastal waterway with  many rolling fields, majestic Oak trees and wild flowers. This gorgeous Antebellum home epitomizes southern charm.and will be a beautiful location for the wedding! Fun fact : Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe were married here in 1999.
Next Spring all the grass will be green and all the trees in bloom!

The Oak tree is what drew them to this venue, when they saw different images of couples getting married under the tree, The house has been moved and now the tree is property of the city. It was disappointing to them, so they have to rethink where on the property.
They will be getting married at dark so this  is going to look amazing!

If they choose to do it in front of the pond...it will look so romantic,

especially with the fountain in the background..

For Centerpieces on the tables Mags wants to go with Vintage! {that's my  girl!} she found this idea, using old candelabras and painting them. She
even thought about using different vintage items on each table, like an old watering can,etc to put flowers in.
This is the color scheme she loves right now..as with any young bride this could change several times. I love the colors!

The old wallpaper looks so cool.

Kitchen where the caterer's set up.

This is the room where the groomsman get ready. Maggie said she doesn't know how 8 guys are going to fit in there, but some how it will work.

This is where the bridal party will get ready.

Maggie and Matt...{my baby, sniff sniff } We got to see the ring this weekend. Matt gave her a 1 carat princess cut three stone ring. The setting is very contemporary and so  beautiful.
