Surfs Up!

As a young girl  growing up I always wanted to learn how to surf. I watched all the surfing movies and  wore the clothes, alas...  living on Long Island Sound wasn't  exactly conducive to learn how to hang ten,.  So I had to settle for water skiing instead .This easy breezy lifestyle is so popular and adds such a cool vibe to a beach house, or any house for that matter. All that's needed ....a surfboard, and if you don't have one, make one!

I just had to share some photos from the surf movies that  I loved growing up!.Some of my readers might not know of  the classic surf movies of the 60's, like Beach Blanket Bingo and Blue Hawaii, or Gidget  If you do, it will bring back some memories..

I adored Frankie Avalon! but not as much as I loved......

Who can forget Sally Filed as Gidget?

I loved all your pics of all the different things people do with surfboards for their home decor. The coffee tables are really neat. I loved gidget. She still looks the same too!

Gidget is my favourite. Love the shots. You can't beat a surf board as a beachy icon.

These are so wonderful!! I would love to learn how to surf one day but Lake Michigan is not the place to do that. Although I have body boarded in the lake, does that count?! :) Anyway, I would also love a surf board in the house, my eyes have been peeled for one at the right price. :)
