"Maineiacs" For A Day

It has been three weeks since my last post, I never meant to go this long between posts, but life just gets away from you and so it goes...  My husband and myself just returned from a wonderful trip from NH, where we spent Thanksgiving with my husband's family.  We got in just in time, because we awoke the next morning to 7 inches of snow and no power! ( this, the day before Thanksgiving) luckily, the power was back on by early afternoon and everything was great! The snow and the cold was wonderful!!! A welcome change from always being warm and humid in the south.

The other reason for our trip, my sister in law was getting married the day after Thanksgiving. The wedding was lovely, and it was great that we were able to spend time together with  our family!

Saturday and Sunday was for us. We were off to York Beach Maine Where we stayed at The York Harbor Inn.

Our room  looked out over the harbor and we had a balcony. We had a fabulous dinner at the Inn. Can you guess what we had???.... yep, Lobster.. It was so wonderful. Downstairs, there is a pub that resembles a ship. A warm and cozy place for an after dinner drink. I wish I could have gotten some photos but it was too dark.

     We went to Nubble Light.

          This is a piece of art that is a bit.... uh... weird, interesting, trying to figure it out.

 This is in the back of the Cape Neddick Lobster Pound Restaurant. We now have two photos of this. Hubby got one several years ago, when this was all snowy.

                                           We headed up to Ogunquit , to Perkins Cove.

               The next morning we got up to watch the sunrise....

            Grabbed a few more shots before we had to head back to NH...Actually, 546 photos where taken in all! We have gorgeous photos of snow and covered bridges , so if you are at all interested in me posting about them let me know and I will!

Sea Chic Jewelry Show

This past Saturday I participated in my very first arts festival, I need to tell you first how this came about. A local store expressed interest in selling my jewelry in their store, and thought it would be a great idea to introduce it to the public at the arts festival before they start selling in the store. I have never done this before, and I had no idea what to expect. I had only 6 days to prepare.  Having only a select few pieces in my Etsy shop that I thought were worthy of selling at the festival, I had to get busy. All I did was make jewelry  for 12 hours a day for 6 days! By the end of each day my eyes were crossing from threading needles and beading, and thought what have I gotten myself into?

My dear sweet mom came into town Friday night and helped me out Friday night, tagging and pricing, and on Saturday helped me set up the display and sat with me in the cold all day. She rocks! I was nervous for absolutely no reason at all. Even though I only sold a few things, it was the perfect platform for me to get my feet wet and get some experience. I don't know that this is something I could do on a regular basis but every now and then would be ok. Here are a few photos of my display.  Have a wonderful Monday!
