 Hot off the presses is the April/May issue of Adore Magazine. Once again it never fails to disappoint. Always cheerful, always colorful, always inspiring! As usual it has a fabulous coastal home featured that made a perfect sunny surprise in my inbox this morning on a dreary Saturday morning . Hope you all have a fab Saturday !

 

Sweet Serenity

Whenever I can find a home on Nantucket to post about, I jump on it, and if you follow my blog on a regular basis, then  you  already  know my love  for this island.. It is peaceful, serene, magical place, that I hope to be able to return to one day. This home designed  Donna Elle, is a serene home, with the beautiful colors of the ocean, and sea glass that give this home a comfortable and sophisticated vibe

              Right away you are greeted with a sense of calm.  The closet door  is made of driftwood!

I love this bedroom !  So peaceful. Would love to wake up and smell and see the ocean.

Skona Hem

 Skona Hem is a Swedish interior design Magazine, chock full of design inspiration . The images in the magazine are not only from Sweden but from around the world. I recently came across the magazine  when I was pinning on  Pinterest.  I can't begin to tell you what one word that is written means,but the images speak for themselves. What I can tell you is, Skona Hem translated means comfortable home. Here are some lovely coastal images...that are sure to inspire you , to make your home a  comfortable one.

It's A Mad Mad World

 I hadn't watched NOT ONE episode of Mad Men until December of 2011. Which is really kind of odd because my father was in the Advertising biz and owned an Ad agency on Madison Ave and surrounded by it most of my life. But after one of my son's  singing it's praises, I felt like I was really missing out. Boy was I! I got caught up in a matter of weeks and I am hooked! My  dad has passed away and was never able to see the show,so I always wonder when I watch, what he would have thought .
 It has been a long 18 months for  the fans of the  TV Series Mad Men, but the wait is finally over.Season 5  premiers tonight on AMC. The season 4 finale left off with us all wondering why did Don Draper, propose to his receptionist Megan and dump Faye?? Sterling Cooper Draper and Price are in dire financial straights and are trying to avoid bankruptcy  due to the loss the Lucky Strike Cigarette account, { thanks to Roger } but he has an ulterior motive. Joan's marriage is a shambles,and is pregnant with Roger Sterling's baby and  the Ex  Mrs. Draper, Betty is still  unhappy in her new marriage and is still one miserable bitch, I mean lady.

As the show continues to move further into the 60's, the wardrobe and set change and evolve as  well. Bold color and pattern were all the rage in the 60's. As we know, everything old is new again, and  We see this design trend  today with the return of bright bold colors and patterns .

Nantucket Summer Home

 Designer  Trudy Dujardin and her husband, Frank Fasanella made fabulous changes to their 1965 summer home in Nantucket to make it energy efficient and eco friendly. I love all the knotty pine and the nautical touches throughout the house! The home was recently featured in Traditional Home.  where you can see the before photos and read more about the transformation.
