Barrier Island Refuge

Sullivan's Island SC has got to be one of the most beautiful places, with some of the most gorgeous homes! Here is yet another example, one of many that I have posted about on the Island. I  would definitely take refuge here. It is so coastal cool, so not over the top. I love the dark woods, the pitch in the ceilings and the nautical accents. A perfect example of what coastal home should be!

A Peaceful Seaside Home

When I saw this home I had to share it, for two reasons; one, the designer, Lynn Morgan Who I have written about before.. my design crush. and two, this house is in Rowayton , CT. where I spent most of my childhood, playing tennis at Roton Point.  and we kept our boat in Rowayton. It is a small town that is quaint and lovely and lies along Long Island Sound.

This home is a coastal gem  with a serene welcoming feeling, that is open and airy. The paleness of the grey  with the pops of blue yellow and orange are beautiful. Does Lynn ever do any thing wrong?? I love this home!

Turquoise By The Sea { Guest Post } Arcardian Lighting

I would like to welcome Jennifer here today who is going to be guest posting for me. She is a fellow seaside lover! Thanks for being her Jennifer.

Hi all! I’m Jennifer and I write for Arcadian Lighting. I've been writing about home decor and design since graduating university and have loved it ever since. I'm addicted to patterned fabrics, Jonathan Adler, chaise lounges, old doors, milk glass jars, antiques, and chandeliers. Having grown up in South Florida I've always loved burying my toes in the sand, feeling the wash of the waves over my feet and taking in the endless ocean views, so you can understand my obsession with Seaside Style. I am thrilled to be writing this guest post on fab turquoise spaces (one of my fave colours).
Your turquoise highness

A space with high ceilings looks more intimate when it's painted in a solid shade of turquoise - a drum-shade floor lamp and ceiling light fixture provides ample light to showcase the bold colour choice of this living room.

Make a backsplash!

A subdued turquoise painted on the backsplash of a cozy kitchenette gives a quaint vignette that much more personality.

Crystals and reflections

The light fixtures of this bedroom - both the crystal wall sconces as well as the clear bauble lamp - are elegant touches, along with the mirrored end table. The tufted turquoise headboard is a fabulous centrepiece.

Lovely retro

A surprising choice - pale turquoise cabinetry along with retro-inspired blue and white patterned wallpaper - come together to create a whimsical but pretty kitchen.

A touch of colour

Sometimes just a dash of a fun colour like turquoise can up the visual impact of a room - this butcher block does the trick in a white kitchen.

True sophistication

While turquoise is often considered to be a more playful hue, when paired with white and clean architectural lines it can also be very chic. We truly adore the wall sconce and small table lamp right by the mirror.

This unique wallpaper print would work in a myriad of rooms, from a kid's space to a home office or even a bedroom for grown-ups.

Engagement party Update

After the last 2 months of talking about my son's party and ALL the preparations, can you believe NOT ONE picture was taken??? We were so busy playing host and hostess and running around with food and talking we forgot the camera... we are kicking ourselves!!! I have not one photo to show  how beautiful it was! I will tell you  though it was! The kids were beyond thrilled and  a great time was had by all.!!  I do have a few photos of some things I have made as far as fall decorating inside the house. I hope you all have been well and are enjoying this glorious Fall weather!!
Since the party theme was an oyster roast I made the oyster shell wreath. I stuck dark grey ones in just to give a pop of color in my living room. I took the driftwood out of my fireplace and used it on the mantel to bring out the grey.

The wreath. I have to redo the bow. It is sparse. I was running out of time. It needs a larger ribbon.

In the kitchen on the island. The pumpkin is a craft pumpkin from Michael's. I picked a font, and made a stencil and just painted it.

The Entry table, Dollar Store apothecary jars I made filled with nuts and Thanksgiving subway art I made as well..

New Sea Chic Bracelets

I hope you all are having a super Monday. It is a rainy dreary day here.. and is supposed to continue until Wednesday. No big deal, the rest of the week is supposed to be beautiful and as long as Saturday is beautiful ( which it is supposed to be) I don't care. I have been making  bracelets like crazy, but it seems I have been giving quiet a few away also. That is ok also,It gets my name out there and my friends and family love them. Here are some I made 2 weeks ago and it has taken me this long to get them photographed and listed in the Etsy shop.
Something that has been bothering me though...... This weekend I lost  a few readers. :( I was so sad. I have not been as diligent with my posting  due to the preparations of the upcoming party for my son. Readership is very important to me, and I was disappointed to see that I lost readers. I also have been very lax in  visiting my blogging friends and commenting on their posts.  I appreciate your support and the readership!! For this I am sorry. I feel out of the loop. As soon as I get  through this weekend I will be be back on track. ANYWHOOO........ here  are a few of the new bracelets.
